Trip Overview Day 3
Hey y'all. Glad to see that people are actually reading this thing. It's humbling.
A made a quick change to the blog so anonymous people can post. Please sign your name though. It makes us feel loved. Sorry to all of you who now have blogs that you're never going to use.
So anyway, on the third day of our weekend trip we got up early (like 7:30, actually early) and headed straight out towards the west to get to Portmagee and a boat out to Skellig Michael. This island is a couple of miles off the western coast (the western-most islands in Europe... I think.) and is pretty small. It is, however, a few hundred meters tall and houses a monastic settlement on the very top of it. Really amazing. All the crooked steps were alone worth the trip.
A note about traveling on a small boat in open water: Don't sit in the cabin, although you'll get wet, you'll feel much better. Also, when you hear about people 'turning green' when seasick, it's true. You could watch the color slowly drain from Drew's face until all that was left was a pale yellow-green visage. He's normally pale. But not nearly that bad.
After our trip on the boat (which lasted about 4 hours all together) we made the rest of the way around the 'ring of Kerry' driving through some amazing mountains and part of the national park before heading north again to come home.
Good fun.
We will be traveling in a couple of weeks to the mainland... all around. Starting south (Venice/Bologna) and heading north through Zurich, Stuttgart, Prague, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris... If anyone has any suggestions let us know.
Oh, and kinda big news... we're coming home a bit earlier than anticipated due to the lack of monies. We'll be returning back to the Cities on Thursday December the 1st. We'll see many of y'all then.
Peace out Hommies.

Well since you asked, I have a suggestion: "Get a job sir. The bums will always loose. Do you hear me [you fools]? THE BUMS WILL ALWAYS LOOSE."

it's your long lost co-worker amanda! i'm suggesting you hit up barcelona...it's is by far my favorite city in spain! hope all is well. have tons of fun and take lots of pictures!
Copenhagen is great, you can get there by train, despite the rumors...
Vienna is a place that is close to Prague and very cool...
I recommend going to one or two places that aren't on the tourist map and seeing what you can find...
